Pine Knoll is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in the Sandhills area of North Carolina. As a CCRC community, we are committed to providing the finest housing, hospitality and health care services to our residents. Pine Knoll offers a wide array of spacious cottages, villas and apartment residences in a beautiful neighborhood setting. |
| Who owns and operates Pine Knoll? |
The community is owned and operated by St. Joseph of the Pines. St. Joseph of the Pines is sponsored by the Sisters of Providence and is part of Catholic Health East, Inc., a multi-institutional, Catholic health system serving 11 eastern states from Maine to Florida. St. Joseph of the Pines, Inc. is a non-profit, faith-based organization governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. The Board establishes the vision, mission and values and provides financial and operational oversight for the organization and its subsidiaries. |
| What kind of fees will residents of Pine Knoll pay? |
As with most not-for-profit retirement communities, residents pay a one-time Entrance Fee, then a Monthly Fee upon moving into the community. The Entrance Fee provides use of the residence and common areas and provides for their future long-term health care needs within the community. A portion of both the Entrance Fee and Monthly Fee may be deducted for tax purposes. The Entrance Fee and Monthly Fee vary based on the size of residence chosen. |

| What health care services are offered? |
Pine Knoll and St. Joseph of the Pines are committed to community wellness and to meeting a wide range of health care needs. Our health care services meet the highest standards and are offered in the finest environment in the area. We provide assisted living, skilled nursing and memory support for our independent living residents should they ever need it through the aging process. Private residences are available. |
| Is the Entrance Fee or Monthly Fee subject to change? |
Both the Entrance Fee and Monthly Fee are reviewed annually by the Board of Trustees and management and will be adjusted based on actual operating costs and sound financial practices. |
